I'll admit, posting the before picture is a bit embarrassing, but it's real. This room became the 'I don't know where to put this, so I'm going to put it in here' room. I knew that before I even attempted to turn it into my dream office, I would have to be 100% commited. 3 years living of in our home & two kids later, I finally (thankfully) reached the time in my life where I was ready to conquer this mess and transform it into a space that would be my sanctuary. I feel so accomplished and proud to finally be organized to the point where running a business seems right. Not that it has never felt right, but editing in my laundry room on the folding table wasn't my ideal situation.
DISCLAIMER:
I was too excited to get it all started that I didn't even think to break out the Nikon at first. This post is mixed with both professional & iPhone pictures. Embrace the grain.
Here we go.
First things first:
After ripping out the carpet, we (as in Josh) put in real hardwood flooring from Lowes. I'm not exactly sure what brand, but i'm checking on it! I do have to say that I LOVE these floors. We have original hardwood in our home already, but oooh the things I would do to be able to have this through out the entire house!
Painting:
One thing that I learn time and time again is that i'm not cut out for painting walls, so I can't take the credit for this. Me and my husband (Josh) have an 'I start it, you finish it' agreement. Or at least I think that's how it goes.
I wanted a white that wasn't 100% white if that makes sense and I'm super pleased with it! Even though we got semi-gloss. Apparently, semi-gloss is for trim & not walls, my B. Lucky for me though, Josh can paint in super straight lines, so there are no visible strokes when the sun hits. Except maybe some areas that I was in charge of. Oops.

WHERE THE MAGIC HAPPENS: DESK DEETS
Pure happiness is coming home to a freshly painted, new room and unpacking boxes and boxes full of your favorite things that you've been storing for one particular space. Through the years, I've learned more about myself and what my style is. I knew I wanted a bright, clean vibe with pops of color. I've always been drawn to the bohemian style. That mixed with my love for modern furniture makes it more boho chic.
CANDLE:
This. Is. The. Best. Candle. In. The. World. I finally picked up a Boho Glass Candle from Urban Outfitters after eyeing it for about a month. I wasn't able to find the full size in Wanderlust online, BUT the mini's are on sale right now for only $10!
Get you some: Mini Boho Glass Candle in Wanderlust
DESK:
I decided to go with a bigger table top than I had originally planned. Can we talk about how upsizing a table top was only $30 total. Ikea is everything. EVERYTHING! As for the legs, I was almost positive that they came in white, but I couldn't find them online or in store, so we spray painted them. It works!

MOUSEPAD:
This had to be featured. More issues than Vogue...so real. One of my favorite Etsy purchases.

TERRARIUM:
I got this terrarium (Hobby Lobby) for 50% off which made it I believe only $15! I originally wanted a similar style that hung from the ceiling, but i'm a beginner at this type of thing, so we'll see how it lasts. I accidentally killed two succulents last year by over watering, so i'm being extra cautious. My two year old son (Kade) added his touch with his dinosaur and he comes to check on it daily. S'cute.
COW SKULL:
I have been waiting for the perfect spot for this cow skull. Josh found it on his land and i'm so glad he thought to bring it home!
For the triangles, I used my Silhouette Cameo with gold vinyl and made yarn tassels using this awesome tutorial: DIY Yarn Tassels
It is sort of hard to see, but I attached feathers from hobby lobby as well.
These Firefly String Lights are on amazon! They give off the perfect light.
STORAGE:
It's all in the detail! I didn't notice the symmetry in this photo until after I posted it! (heart eyes emoji) It's the little things. This piece was a no brainier. About a year ago, I found the Kallax on Pinterest and immediately knew it was the best storage option.

The black polaroid camera is what started it all! It was my Meemaw's and as mentioned in my About Me, as soon as I took my first few polaroids, I was hooked. I think its super cool that I inherited it! The other Polaroid I picked up at Warrenton Antique Week. It still works and it even had some old old film left in it!
I HAD to get the pillow that matched my rug for a price like that!

BOHO DECOR:
The pink stone & bottle are both from Hobby Lobby as well. The bottle was left over wedding decor that made it into my box of office goods. I wrapped it in yarn and attached some feathers and woo-lah! Literally took 5 minutes.
PLANTS:
What I lack most in life is a green thumb. I have absolutely no idea how to keep them alive, therefor I go for the more less maintenance plants so I have a better chance at not killing them. These little guys were $2.99 at the IKEA store. I've yet to get their own little pots, but honestly i'm really not ready to take on that responsibility yet. Yes, it's that bad.
But aren't they cute!
VASES:
These color block vases were a given! Hobby Lobby - 50% OFF, done. Super excited about the eucalyptus, too! The smell remindes me of growing up. My mom had it all over the place in my childhood home.
The yellow billy balls are also a fave of mine. I used real ones at our wedding and they stood out so much I figured why not. They are so bold and just....yellow!
MIRROR:
Excuse the iPhone pic. Really. I'm sorry.
The Ikea STAVE mirror is the perfect size! I also came across this awesome Ikea Hack from 'The Girl On The Go'. Check it out! She shows how to hang & organize jewelry BEHIND your Stave mirror! Serious. So thats going down, soon!
I only purchased three of the BRANÄS baskets in Rattan only because I wasn't sure of how many I'd actually fill. I love they way they look though. I will eventually purchase an even amount!
The husbands toys:
Josh wanted to hang all of his guitars on the wall, but after getting the room so bright I really want to keep the walls as bare as possible. I'm diggin this little corner!
iPhone pictures look really really good on the phone screen. Blown up, not so great.

photo wall:
Can't leave this little piece of art out. I love how I didn't even see the very bottom right picture is completely turned around. Oh well. Anyways, This was a very quick little project that i'm not super satisfied with but it works! For so long i've wanted space to just hang random pictures that I love, so you already know...at 3am on night, thats what I was doing.
Random shoutout:
This book is AWESOME. I don't remember the last time I couldn't put a book down... Never? It is the most informative photography guide with out the graphs and tech diagrams. It covers all of the basics with out turning you off by the photography language. Even though I have taught myself through trial and error, it was enjoyable to read in plain English that pretty much knew what I was doing.
